spring in gear shifter

The spring in my right gear shifter has popped out - had it apart and cannot put it back by hand. Is this a job that a bike repair shop would be able to do, or am I looking at new shifters?

If need replacing any recommendations for low cost option - at the moment I have integrated shifters and v brakes so I assume both would need replacing.

    what shifter? and what were you doing to cause it to "pop" out?

    not exactly sure what shifter it is without looking (will check tonight) all I know is it's a shimano shifter on a gt bike that's about five years old. Wasn't doing anything in particular - just noticed that the shifter wasn't returning when changing gear so took casing off and noticed the spring wasn't in place.

    My quess would be SRAM X.. and no I don't know the answer except to buy a replacement!

    Thanks - look like a replacement is needed....anybody recommend a cheap option - integrated brake and gear shifter (8 speed)?

    and what is the rear mech?

    oh and the sram X type are not combined.
