Wheel advice for commuting

I have a Specialised FSR XC Pro full suss mountain bike. I use it for alot of cross country but I also commute to work on it a couple of days a week. Mountain bikes and road don`t go too well
I`d like to buy another set of wheels so that I can put some slicks on, they`ll need to be able to accommodate disc brakes. I don`t want to spend too much on them, something fairly light and strong??
Thanks

Have a look at the Merlin Cycles website. I got a pair of Mavic 317 rims on LX hubs from them for about 70 quid. They are still true and going strong after 18 months. I'm not running discs on my Rockhopper, but I did see that they had plenty of wheels with disc hubs in around that price range.0

I second Merlin for wheels, excellent builds and prices, and as they are hand built they should stay true far longer than cheap machine built rims. Apart from one faulty rim (replaced by Mavic and rebuilt for free by Merlin) I have used their wheels for about 7 years and have worn them out before they went out of true!0
