New bars and stem!

After weeks of deliberation I finally went ahead and bought some oversize carbon bars and a new stem to accomadate them:

Going to go on my first ride with them tomorrow, I'm praying that they're stiffer than the previous set-up. Who else runs carbon bars? Did they make a difference?

I think you'll notice that there is considerably less chatter from the trail when you go out next. Or at least that's how my CF bars felt when I wazzed 'em on my klein.

What width are they?

Well I have to say I'm absolutely astounded by the difference the new stem and bars made. You were quite right Blundell, there were noticably les vibrations coming from the bars - I'm very impressed!

Nice bars.I`m after some RF Next low risers for my XTC.Ashley,just looking at the pic of your bike.Are those Raceface rings youare running on XT cranks?

Hi there Spiderman,

Yep, spot on! They are RaceFace Deus rings. Had them on there for about 18 months and they've done me proud - awesome rings. Only now does the middle ring need replacing, the other two are nearly new still. So much better than the Shimano ones that are made out of play dough!
