Just got some new clipless pedals, shoes on order, what about Beta Blockers? My friend at work has some metal plates that go under his cleat called Beta Blockers. Does anyone know where to buy them? Apparently they prelng the life of the shoe.

Crank bros do 'shoe shields', from wiggle: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.a ... %20Shields

They will prolong the life of the shoe as well as giving clipping in/out a more positive feel.

  • Are they only for use with Egg beaters?

They work for any of the 2-bar type pedals - Crank Bros, Time ATAC etc - by covering the part of the sole that the retention bars would rub against - especially recommended for carbon soled shoes. They may well work for other pedal types depending on where they contact the sole of the shoe - all my bikes are running with various Crank Bros pedals.
