    +1 for 'bugger'

I have another cycling commitment that day, a real shame cos I'd like to support this event. I remember reading that the pro race had some kind of problem with BCFwho didn't want to support it because it's international or something like that.
You just have to ride like you never have to breathe again.

  • I think it is something to do with it being a UCI sanctioned event now. It can't also appear on the BCF Premier Calendar.
  • It's a great race to watch, I'd recommend Owston as the village really seems to get behind the event. Obviously some of the "sectors" are also good places for spectators especially some of the rougher ones.

Hopefully the sportif version will be better this year although as it clashes with the Dragon Ride they've not got off to a good start.
You hear that? He's up there... mewing in the nerve centre of his evil empire. A ground rent increase here, a tax dodge there? he sticks his leg in the air, laughs his cat laugh... and dives back down to grooming his balls!
  • I usually watch the start in oakham and then ride to owston as they lap through there 3 times and as already said villagers lay on BBQ . Then a quick ride into Melton to see the finish.
Last year they had that bloke who commentates on the cycling on BBC (No idea of his name) doing a commentary in the village which wa entertaining.
