Oria Tt.08 Speciale Tubing
Does anyone know anything about this tubing?
It's on my old 80's Olmo which was given to me by a friend who was given the bike free by a client to make space in his basement(!).
It has a budget Campy 980 derailleur, and did have Sachs New Succes Cranks & Universal brakes, so I'm not imagining it to be the best stuff in the world.
The paint was not in great shape so I stripped it and repainted it "Vauxhall Midnight Black". It's gonna be my courier hack from next week, and I've done thousands of happy miles on it.
It now has a new old stock 80's Super Record Chainset, Open Pro rims, all new bearings and Pinhead locking skewers.

As far as I know it was the cheapest tube set by Oria back in the 80's.
It is a Hi Tensile steel with a thickness of 0.8 mm for the 3 main tubes and 0.85 for the chain stays.
I had a OLMO Grand Prix back then that I used for everything but racing. The bike was a bit heavy but the ride was very good.0 -
Thanks,
That's interesting to know. At least a heavy bike means a good muscle workout.
It is a lovely bike to ride, very sharp handling, which is good for defensive traffic swerves, and I can leave it anywhere without worrying too much.
Thanks again for the info.0
