Hi,

Am I right in saying that, even the driver/rider of a vehicle thinks they have done nothing wrong, that they are legally obliged to give details of their insurer if asked by anyone with "reasonable cause"?

That's presuming you ask on of the nine in ten that are actually insured :x

Regards

Phil

if they've been involved in an incident, yes.

Its much wider than that- its if there has been an accident owing to the presence of their vehicle on the road- ie it covers situation where you are not hit by them, but have an accident trying to avoid them.

    This applies irrespective of fault

  • But, only if there is damage or injury.
And not if you're a cyclist.
Unless a police officer asks you.
And then only if he/she has stopped you for cycling carelessly, etc.
