Getting details from a reg number

I know its been shown here before, but could somebody kindly remind me where and how i can plug a reg number into a website to get any info on it.

    You can get the make, model and year details from The RAC vehicle check page - you don't need to pay the £5 unless you want more info. If you need to trace the owner of a car then the DVLA web site can help you.

    Didn't know about that RAC site, pretty neat :wink:
    The owner's details are protected under the Data Protection Act but that didn't stop several DVLA employee's flogging details on the side a few years back...

    You can get registered keeper information from the DVLA for a small fee providing you have "reasonable cause" - there is a form here

    the RAC website isn't 100% accurate,

    it's got my car and my friends car listed incorrectly, mine on year of registration, his on engine size

    make and model is correct for both, which i guess is what you're after.
