Bit of a spill this morning

Heading down Beckenham hill without a care in the world I take the left on to the A21 which is a lovely corner except today there seemed to be some diesel or something like that on the road (I say this in hindsight) as I corner the bend my front wheel completely loses traction and for a moment I think I can hold it, then the back goes as well I’m toast. Skidded along the ground for a bit with my hip and wrist/forearm taking the brunt and my knee got a little reminder of tarmac too.

The bike thankfully is fine, I lost a bar end to the road gods but other than that it’s still pristene phew. I’m going to be bruised fairly soon and the bleeding has stopped as the hip and knee were only superficial. My wrist aches a bit but is ok. I think I need to buy some new tights as they got shredded on the left leg and my left glove has had a chunk taken out of the gel padding.

I would like to say thank you to the cyclist behind me who slowed the traffic and came to see if I was ok basically helping me get my sh!t together after being shaken up.

Have some karma, hope it's not serious and all's well soon.

Bikes are just bits of metal and plastic, can be fixed and/or replaced. People can't - so the fact that you're OK is all that matters.

Huge positive vibes to the other cyclist, well done him/her.

It's just a hill. Get over it.

thanks SS... I can heal... my bike can't

I'd only just replaced the cassette and outer ring as they'd worn out, so it feels all new and precious again.
