    Fingers crossed though.

whoooahhh! I looked this morning and it had big black clouds for the northwest - now it's a picture of sunshine and gentle breezes!!
I'll have to see if I can get out for a long ride tomorrow. YES!! :D

Living in North Shropshire all I can see is a glimmer of light to the East and black clouds overhead, and you are only a county away POPETTE. Can there be that much difference in 50 miles? Think I'll move to your location. All it ever does here is bloody rain!!
I say what I like and I like what I say!

Hi Girofan, Oswestry (north shropshire??) is supposed to be big fat sun for the next five days, except for Sunday, when it will be sunny intervals. Don't tell me the BBC five day weather forecast have got it wrong (again)?

Have they ever got it right?

These days, I'm relying on the "stick head out of window and look at the sky" method of forecasting.

    Praise the Lord...
    And send me the money...
That's what Jesus wants you to do!

Don't care about the weather - I've got to get my skinny legs onto a bike or they are going to atrophy :( Time to start doing some squats again - have you seen the hills on the Cheshire Cat

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!

Obviously none of you live in Toledo, Ohio(USA) where we have been enjoying
cold weather and snow and ice covered roads for the past two months. Just
wonderful. I hate riding in the basement.

I love riding in the snow. No traffic and the espresso/mocha/latte' at the end is always better than on a sunny day.

Don't know about the weekend but I had a lovely sunny, hillyish ride this afternoon. One of the few advantages of advancing years :)

is it artists lane that you go up to the edge? So that you approach the wizard national trust place head on? My garmin measured that as 15% today. It was such a lovely day - snow drops were out and I had to take my detachable sleeves off my jacket!

We've got beautiful clear skies in the 'sarf' - 100km up to Hannington and around the Hampshire downs in a shade over 3 hours - saw a couple of other riders in shorts too!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

think so, there's like a little island in the road as you turn left up the hill.

sounds right, starts quite hard, mellows in the middle, then kicks your arse near the end!

  • Yep, it was absloutely gorgeous this morning in hampshire, most enjoyable ride of the year so far - more of the same tomorrow i hope.

It's amazing what a difference bright sunshine and light winds makes - it really makes me think about moving abroad sometimes to sunnier climes (and less traffic). Still when it's like it was today England's not too shabby.

Stockport to Alderly Edge is one of my favourite runs. Been doing it at least twice a year for about 30 years now. Wow, that makes me feel old (though I did start when I was about 14).

Here in the east of Australia the weather has been pretty wet!!!
It is supposed to be summer.
In the Alpine region last week there have been thundertsorms nearly every afternoon, along with torrential rain, one day 4inch hailstones came down for a couple of minutes, luckily I was sheltered in a supermarket.
The roads are flooded and its hard to find a dry spot to pitch a tent.
I hope that makes you all feel better.

Next weekend is looking just as good, if not better, though there's a bit of a wind-chill early on for anyone in Sevenoaks:
