After an enforced nearly 3 years in my car commuting to Bristol, i start a new car free jounrney to my new job next week...question is, does the mile and a half to the station to catch a train count as commuting by bike? I used to do 10 miles each way and this just don't feel the same!

I would bet at least a pint that you could find a more acceptable route, even if the distance was longer, and you'd enjoy it more even if you didn't want to do it every day. Maybe start with getting the train to work and cycling home, at least you're not in a car.0
