Does anyone know of a route from Wirral into North Wales that doesn't involve the A550 ? Fancy heading for the hills but I'd like to be alive when I get there

Your may be in luck, the new slip road off the A550 at Woodbank was due to open today*. Go through the lights at Two Mills on the Parkgate road, go past the Yacht and take the next turn on the right this brings you out at the lights at the juction of the A550/A5117. Go straight across on the new slip road and up to the roundabout. Take the first exit sign posted Chester. Just after the first left turn pick up the cycle path on the left. At the bridge turn left on the cycle path then go over the bridge. Follow the cycle path over the Dee and into Rowley's Drive. After that pick up this route http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-ki ... /223348774 .

    * The slip wasn't open at 4pm but it should be open very soon and you only have to cycle about 200 yards down the A550 dual carriage way to get to the old slip anyway.
