C'mon, no chance it'll go away, whichever verdict tomorrow
  • It'll never go away - either it will be investigated properly or the suspicion and innuendo will continue indefinitely.

Personally, I hope they do investigate properly as I suspect there will be some very high-profile teams/sportsmen/women other than cyclists involved.

Exactly the reason I believe it will be closed. That plus the small fact that Spanish law says there is nothing there. Isn't there some kind of EU law about evidence sharing that would overrule that? If not, I think that's all she wrote. Pathetic, yet legally justified.

If it's closed will they return or destroy the evidence I wonder?

Nope it'll just hang around ready to resurface in a L'Equipe/Marca/Gazzetta/David Walsh [delete as applicable] article in about six months time.

In truth I suspect the documents will go to some top secret warehouse, like at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, to sit alongside the JFK, Area 51, 9/11 etc etc 'evidence'
  • So was 9/11 a missile attack by the US government then? ;)

There's now talk of DNA testing for Valverde. If he's exposed as a cheat, I predict Caisse d'Epargne will walk and the team will fold overnight. I wonder how "calm" he is feeling now...

Wonder how they'll do that when the blood is poured down the drain?

Has it been poured down the drain? Surely the bags should all be returned to their rightful owners!

hehe - Yep. They said if the case is closed the evidence will be returned to Dr F. Or destroyed.

    No announcement yet though.

  • It's the worlds most obvious cover-up if the evidence is destroyed (giving it back to Dr. F is the same thing of course). However, that's the (stooopid) law. It'd be better for everyone if cycling go this whole thing off its chest by investigating properly. But after this long waiting for that I won't be holding my breath, I will most certainly not breathe ever again if I did.
