Hi peeps,
Whats the secret to securing handlebar grips? Need a quick 'n easy solution because I'm off out tonight and I don't want to end up on my face like I did at the weekend
I've tried hairspray (super-strong hold  ) and even tried a bit of lock-tite, but the friggin thing still slips.
When I can be bothered to drag my ass to the LBS I'll get some lock-on's, but until then I need HELP....

have they stretched?
To be honest I have only ever used water and had no problems, I have not even had to use hairspray......
Sounds odd that they are slipping even with locktite

Simple solution is to use a hose clamp, cheap simple & available in all local hardwear stores!!!
***Bluefoam accepts no responsibility for stupid peoples actions, please do not use a hose clamp on your bike!0 -
Or a couple of decent width zip ties......0

take off grips, clean inside of grips and bar meticulously with soapy water and leave to dry fully, then spray grips liberally with afore mentioned harispray, slide on grips and leave to dry. they should be well secured. I can only assume your previous lack of success was due to not cleaning first. Hairspray has been used as a grip fixer since Adam was a lad.0

To be honest, no, I didn't bother cleaning 1st
You know how it is:-- 5 mins till ride starts
- get bike out of garage
- pour half a gallon of oil on the muddy/rusty chain
- remember the loose grip  and tell the missus you're borrowing her hairspray so you can look good on the ride
