I suppose that's what the cycle 2 work scheme is all about  It's not that I haven't been on the bike since I got it 2 months ago, I've just never done the cycling to work bit.

At least with the 2 months of riding under my belt (and a slightly looser belt) I wasn't a sweating exhausted heap by the time I arrived in the office this morning !

Just thought I'd share my joy, and yes, I will be communting on a regular basis by bike from now on.

A brilliant start to the day riding in, and I can't wait for the ride home :P

    Well Done....

Have to agree, it really is the best way to start the day...

Work = The 8hours between bike rides :D
  • Good stuff, how far is your ride then ?
  • It's only about 3 miles  More or less all down hill on the way in, so obviosuly not as favourable on the way home. Nice country roads though, only worry being drivers pulling out of t-junctions and not seeing me.

I'm looking forward to the trip home though, record how long it takes and keep trying to improve. Doesn't matter how hot and bothered I get going home, a shower and a nice mug of tea will cure all.

Aaaargggh, still 2 hours till hometime :(

:-D Got to agree, somehow even the most frustrating and annoying day can be soothed away by the cycle home or even just the thought of the cycle home.

Oh the things you think!

  • Well done there. You'll be surprised by how quickly you improve, I think. I have a 15-mile EW commute (also uphill on the way home). When I started in January it was taking me 90 minutes. Already I'm down to under 60.
