Heres how I see the typical RLJ cyclist, Dont see how it improves safety over waiting in primary position and speed benefits are marginal as the video shows :D I COULD be faster by jumping lights and riding on pavements, but I dont think Id be safer for it.

Ive sped up the video between him dissapearing round a blind corner and me catching him up later to alleviate bordeom :D

I saw a different sort of infuriating RLJing git last week. I stopped at a ped crossing before a junction where I had a red light. THere were several people crossing in both directions. A helmet and hi viz clad folder rider just rode across the crossing ringing his bell to get the peds to move out of his way!

What a complete @rse. I'd have had words but it's a lng light sequence and he'd disapeared into the station before I could catch him.

I feel your pain brother...They should have their saddles removed and be forced to ride the Paris - Roubaix.

....and no doubt someone will post a reply saying its okay to RLJ and they only do it when its clear and its not a problem.

    BUT IT'S JUST PLAIN WRONG

I just don't get it at all. Why the f**k would you wan't to risk death by jumping a red light. I could maybe understand if there were no cars nearby and you had a PERFECT view of all possible entrancies but even then it is only a short wait. It seems to me to be the pinnacle of stupidity to RLJ.

It reminds me of a scene in Withnail and I as they are setting off to the country and Richard E Grant is shouting out the window - "They are throwing themselves into the road"
