I bought a pair of Assos and now can't face putting on any of my other shorts! Expensive but worth the money and comfy as you like, good range of colours too (for the posers amongst us)!!!!!

OH they're definitely worth the money. Once you have had Assos you don't generally go elsewhere. You get what you pay for.

Giordana Tenax & Body Clone get good reviews if you dont want to fork out for Assos, will be my next shorts come summer anyway.
  • I just bought a pair of Assos shorts from Wiggle last week. I cried when I put them on because they were so comfortable.

    in order of comfy

    ENDURA FS pro 260 /ASSOS
    Castelli

Castelli Free bibshorts - super comfy! Comobike do 'em far cheaper than uk prices.
  • Another vote for Assos, bought a pair of FI. 13 S2 from Primera in Bournemouth loved them so much went back and bought another 2 pairs.
    'Hello to Jason Isaacs'
  • Another vote for Assos.

Endura are good for the money but they're not as comfy, don't last nearly as long (in my experience) and for me the fit is a bit odd (simon cowell high waist band - weird) but they are less than half the price. For ultimate comfort though - Assos all the way, as someone else said - you get what you pay for

Any Santini bibs with their "Twistgel" insert.
Best I've had and will be buying more from Majorca (Sport Bequi) this year as cheaper than the UK.
Approx £65 in this country which is still a good price for shorts this good.
Not tried their cheaper shorts but may have to given poor exchange rates.

I have couple of pairs of GORE BIKEWEAR shorts - a little cheaper than Assos but I have found them very comfortable and would recommend these as good value, well made shorts

Another vote for Assos. I've only used the Uno's (the last pair I got was £50 from Ribble) but they are by far and away the comfiest shorts I've used. The only downside is that the legs are a bit on the short side so at 6'3" they look a little too much like hot pants for my liking. They worked for kylie but not for me.

I've also got some Giordana Tenax and they are OK but the chamois is not as good as the Assos.
  • I think the plastic might have to havea bit of a bashing. Assos it is. But I'm not sure about the hotpant look  I'm 6'3" also and I'm all legs so they could be even more than hotpants  . But if they're comfy then I'll just have to shave a bit higher

What's the Assos sizing like with Shorts? I've got one of the Gilets in XLG, but that's because I've got a large chest.

I normally take medium DHB bib shorts - so what's the closest Assos equivalent? (34" Waist / 5'8")

i'm a similar size to you and i have both the F1uno's and F1 Milles in large and they fit very well. I would add that the leg gripper is a tad more 'aggressive' on the unos so if you have chunky thighs like me then you may prefer the Milles (which i think have the same type of leg gripper as the more expensive assos shorts) as i do - nowt in it as far as comfort in the all important seat area though.

Assos kit has been, and I'm sure always will be, tight. Supposed to be that way too.

Always try and get to a dealer and try them on, it will be worth it. Make sure you get the right size.

I'm 5' 8'', 34 waist, have uno and milles in XL

Got the unos from a mate who wore them once, wasn't comfortable (turned out to be his saddle!!) for £15!!

Remember they're cut for on the bike, and will feel tight over the shoulders when stood up (onother mate didn't buy cos he thought they were too small)
