Slipping seat posts
No doubt been done before ad nauseum- apologies- but my biggest problem (at least cycle-related) is slipping seat post - steel frame, 27.2 seat post, separate collar done up very tight, post still drops on rough conditions (pot hole [stuck in tight group -couldn't avoid] left me feeling like my b@lls where in my throat - post dropped a couple of mm). what remedies are recommended to cure this? It's one of those irritating things (I keep looking at the mark to gauge downward progress) that spoils the whole ride. At this rate I may have to get the ornament (Carbon, Record, blah, blah, bling) out instead.

Go to a good car engineering shop and get a small pot of Valve Griding Paste. A small smear round the post and she will never slip. Get the coarse one and it will mark but there is a Fine one and it grips without marking.0
