    5ft 10", 34" inside leg, ride a 17" Marin, which equates to a 19" frame really.

  • 6' 5" and a GT size L frame (think its around a 20" frame. I like the clearance over the top tube. Protection for the family jewels
  • 6'5"

    19.5" frame

I tried the 21" and it just felt too cumbersome. I just ride with a long seat post extended nearly all the way out and use 2.5" rise bars. I've not found it a problem at all, and like the standover clearance it gives me.

I do get a sore back sometimes, but I think that should be largely cured by changing my behemoth 120mm stem for something like a 90mm.
  • 6' 3" and 20" Frame
  • I am 6" and a bit maybe nearer 6"2 can't remember and at the moment i have an 18" frame that is too small but looking to get a 20-22" frame

    6'1" 17.5" frame 34" inside leg

Managed to save future mini me's by stepping over the handlebars during a downhill crash at weekend. I advise everyone to get a frame slightly smaller than required!!
  • 5 10" and ride a 16" dmr trailstar frame
  • I'm 6'7" with a 37 -1/4 inch inside leg so I'm up there with the rest of you big guys. I ride a 22" Giant XTC 1.

  • Was a little bored over my cup of tea:

    Seems MTBers are tall people!

    survey size 47

    average height of 6'1"!

UK average height for guys on 2002 was 5'9", so that's a huge skew!

Incidentally, average weight for guys was just under 80kgs. That's not good to hear
Anyone want to own up? :?

6' 1" on a good day, 31" inside leg - at a stretch - and arms like a frikkin' orangutan. Fat bloke too so I ride a Large Giant Yukon which seems Ok - but if I get another bike I'll probably drop down to something like a 18 or 19" frame for a bit more chuckability off road. The large is pretty comfortable for miles on the road though ...decisions,decisions!

I don't know how some people weigh so little. I'm 105kg with not too much fat on me. God knows what I'd weigh if I was a fat fecker. It's not like I even work out much.

Tell me about it. I'm still wearing the same size waist trousers (36") as I was at school, I'm the same height, I'm just 4 or 5 stone heavier. I'd love to be back under 100kgs, but I'm usually 103 - 105. We'll be deep in it if they introduce the weight limit for passengers on planes!

  • 11.5 stone here (and 5'8") or about 72kgs.
I was 12.5 stone (serious weightlifting for many years) but it looked silly and slowed me down so upped the cardio and lost some weight.
28" waist - been the same since I was about 18!

105kg is damn heavy! I feel for your poor bikes!
