Cleaning forks

Should I use a water displacement agent such as GT85 or WD41 on my forks? Someone suggested that these can rot the seals.

    correct they can. just a wipe down witha damp cloth. and a couple of drops of fork oil in the seals is all that is needed for most forks.

    What are your forks?
