I have a question about maintaining a bike in the winter. There is a lot of salt on the road which is not very good for the gears, chain... No way I would give up cycling, even if the weather isn't the best. Therefore I would like to know what do you, who have some experiences, do to take care for your bike in these not quite friendly conditions. Is it smart to totaly clean the bike after each ride?
Thanks for the answers!

Road you just need an old rag and some wet lube. Try getting all manners of gloop off a mountain bike.

I use muc off, a brush and a hose down after every winter road trip including commutes. Takes 5 mins. If I don't then the salt kills it and it is also horrible working on a filthy bike.

    Enjoy the winter.

    Regards

Normally it's the hose and a quick wipe down but once a month I will remove the chain (KMC link) and take off the cassette. Both get soaked in white spirit for 30 minutes and then get a quick wash. After that Wd40 and some proper oil on the chain.
