Hi all

After turning my bike upside down for some maintenance my disc brakes are a bit sluggish.

The manual says : *Set the brake lever so that it is parallel to the ground* then gently depress the brake lever several times and wait for the bubbles to return to the resservior tank.

Can anyone explain * in plain english please :?:

Many thanks

put the lever flat so the fluid doesnt spil when you take the lid off. pour some fresh fluid in and squeeze the lever a few times. Then when bubbles stop coming up put the lid back on and dont turn it upside down anymore.

if your brakes were affected by turning the bike upside down, then they will need rebleeding anyway. if you want to do that yourself, check out park tools, or your manual, but there shouldnt be any bubbles in the system anyway.

It means you have to loosen the locking nut on the lever and rotate them on the handlebars until they are parallel (level with) the ground. You might have to loosen and rotate your gear shifters as well to let the brake levers move.

Try a rubber band round the lever overnight for a quick fix.

Thanks very much for this tip.

Is it just a case of applying the brakes on and holding it on with an rubber band ???

    Thanks
