Sunny and frosty and not much wind. Icy enough for river-side path to be hard rather than muddy - so didn't even need to clean the bike.

More please!

    Bloody freezing at 6.30am 1'C.

I still managed to get in 20 miles, although my head and finger tips were frozen.

  • 10:42 pm local time just got home it's 32 degrees (C) & gonna be a hot one 2morrow!
  • yup nice and clear at 4.45am this morning. No frost on the roads and also no cars. Had a great ride and back before sun up for brekky - only downside was the 2minutes of extreme pain as the feeling came back into my frozen fingers!

Can only agree... Met office said icy roads and 40+mph winds... Was sunny, dry and breezy! Had to tape up the shoe vents though (Tri shoes are VERY aerated!) and fingers had to be plied loose from bars once home, but brilliant weather. Hope it holds for tomorrow, got a 1/2 marathon to run! :D

  • It was pretty much only the A-roads round my way that were rideable early this morning - and there was plenty of horrible grey slush on them. Went for a long run on the moors instead; sooo satisfying to be the first to make footprints in the snow!

Good luck with the half marathon Ruari, going to start racing halfs and 10ks myself soon.
  • On the basis of the somewhat innaccurate forecast that I'd seen, imade plans and gave committments that took up most of the day. All the time i was thinking what a good day it was and how much I wished i was out on thw bike. Forecast for tomorrow looks rather windy as well as cold but I'll be out on the bike come what may.

Not QUITE so "lovely" today - no iciness, but significantly stronger wind. But hey it was dry, so that's near enough for me!

  • yup was out for a 60miler this morning and came back nicely tired from the exertion of riding in the wind. A nice start to the week. Plus my fingers didn't go numb which is always a bonus.

  • It was a bit blowy out there this morning. Had to pedal reasonably hard going downhill in places in order to maintain a bit of decent speed. It was another story when the wind was on my back however. Bowling along at over 20mph for very little effort. At least when it rained the wind was behind me.

  • Headwinds are     ....

  • nah see I used to hate headwinds but the way I see it are they're a great opportunity to get some good old resistance training in. Whether its powering through on a big gear or spinning like lance the benefits of training into the wind are good, add in riding a heavy winter bike and you're away - well I think so anyway! Plus if you can get a head wind on the way out then on the way home you have a tail wind to push you through!
