Going on a hike, and I was wondering if there is anything to do to make it more interesting.
Normally I'd just start a stick fight but the guys I'm with for this hike are no fun. I'm bringing an mp3 player so they don't bore me to an uncertain fate... :( Anything apart from Eyespe? Mucho Gracais

    Um... Don't go on a hike with people you find boring? :?
    Even if the voices aren't real, they have some very good ideas.

    Plot a route on a map, give it to them and let 'em get on with it! Say you have an urgent appointment with the dentist, but you took the trouble to prepare a route . . . Failing that, start a stick fight in the hope they may go away!

    If you've said you're going to do it you should really do it. Bear in mind, if you've got so little in common with these people there's a good chance they find you boring also!

    Best way to make a boring task interesting is to game it - for example; see if you can get everybody to walk in alphabetical order, then height order, then age order etc. without them noticing you're up to something. That should keep your ingenuity occupied for a bit!

    If all else fails, try to make sure they enjoy it and you'll at least have built some good karma. 8)

    take a bike and when they query as to why you've bought one say "i thought you wanted to go out on a bike?!" then leave them behind. :wink:

    we took my mates bag emptied the kit out of it turned it inside out and put everything back into it whilst he went to the toilet.

    the look on his face when he came back was brilliant :D
