Are Shimano hydraulic levers interchangeable?

I'm looking at a groupset which will land me with dual-control shifters & brake levers...so i'll be getting seperate shifters and levers and selling the dual-control ones.

Would be a chance to upgrade the levers, but will using XT levers on LX calipers be fine?? I'd assume they're all pretty much interchangeable?? :?

    They will be interchangeable,but try the DCLs before you dismiss them.I now find them very intuitive,and not sure I would go back,other than to have more flexibilty,over future brake/gear upgrades.

    I think it's more the size of the DCLs that I find offensive!! :lol:

    They just look bloody huge and like you'd have to mount them really far in to the bar...

    you can get them with out the dual control levers. and yes most of shimanos lever assys will work with most of their calipers.
