International Cycle Couriers

Hi all,
New to this website and hoopefully posted this in the right bit. Five of us are flying to Austria this July to compete in Ironman Austria. Ryan Air have turned around and said no room for our bikes even though we have checked them on online  I've been trying to find any other way to get the bikes there (save me forgoing my flight and driving them across).
Does anyone know anyone who operates an international cycle shipping service? We have had quotes from companies such as DHL and TNT which are absurd.
Thanks in advance!
Matt

can you not break them down enough to fit in large suitcases & check them in as normal baggage? Rynair will be happy to charge you for the extra weight but could be a cheap option?

Not a bad idea that - I'll get my tape measure out and see how big my biggest suitcase is!0

Get the money back from Ryan air and drive. if you've booked the flight and bikes and they have come back to you later and said they can't take the bikes then surely that should be a full refund?
I hate Chav air :evil:0 -
probably a load of crap. they will have plenty of space. Most of Ryanair passengers travel with hand luggage only as they give a good 10KG weight allowance on hand but only 15KG on checked baggage. They don't want checked baggage least of all special handling like bikes. They are on a very tight turnaround to make money and can't afford to mess around with unusual items that may cause a delay. If you can fit a bike in a case do so. Taking front forks off will help. Put all your heavy items like pedals, tools etc in hand baggage. It's what I do and never a problem.
