Which carrot?

Not new to cycling at all but I need a carrot to get me back out after the winter. So...
What should I spend a bundle on? It has to be enough money that I'll be determined to get the use of it but not so much that the current Mrs Cyclo spanks me again like last year.

one of my friends has just put down a deposit on a bob jackson. because it's a deposit, he's not in trouble as it's not too much in one go and now he wants to be superfit in four months time, when it's ready, so he's out riding all the time.
would that do it?0 -
Dont know what you already have, but Im fancying a new set of hollowtech II's myself.
Depends how big a bundle were talking about. Theres this sort of a bundle at migh on 200 quid

what about a garmin edge 305 - £140 from Halfords online. I plan routes into completely unknown territory and Garmin just guides me around - no map stops anymore and I'm seeing different areas of Cheshire (before I stuck to the same few routes just to avoid the problem of stopping to read maps). It's brilliant!0
