Front mech playing up.

It's been getting worse, but seems to have finally given up.
Only running 2 rings as i have a bash guard.
Basically it is on the small ring at the moment and the cable appears slack, any attempt to move the chain up to the bigger ring results in quite an effort to 'click' the shifter. The cable becomes very tight and the actual mech does sod all.
I am not good at playing with gears, don't really know what i'm doing with them.
Could it be jammed? Is there maybe a quick fix solution?

try adjusting the screws in the top, it may be that you are pushing the mech further than the limit screw is adjusted to.

Lube it up, and the cables too. There are too screws on the Mech, one should say H or high, the other L or low. The one you may need to unscrew by a SMALL amount os the High. Try 1/4 turn at a time.0
