Moving from a country commute to a city run, new bike help

Hello,
I've just moved back to Ireland (Cork) from Manchester, and my commute has now shrunk from 30 (suburban/country) miles to about 7/8 (city) miles. So my road bike is not really appropriate and hybrid/city bikes are all new to me. As I have a good road bike, I don;t want to spend a lot on the new bike, but at the same time I need something reliable and sturdy.
Anyway, there an nearly new Trex 7100fx on sale in work. Is it suitable for an urban, though hilly, commute? My main question is size, I'm 6'3" and have a 57cm frame on my road bike (although this is if anything, a very small bit too big for absolute comfort) and the bike thats for sale is 20".
So, should I proceed with the purchase?
thanks in advance,
Aidan.
