nope just sponge it down. Parktools have a good guide on how to clean a bike.

Pressure can force water and other stuff into bearings.

  • Bike in stand

    Wheels off, chain off

Hose down with low pressure cold water

Good dosing of Fenwicks..... Degreaser on F&R Mechs

Then scrub down with warm, soapy water

    Rinse, Dry

    Then Muc off bike spray

Same procedure for wheels, but degreaser on cassette and a good scrub

    Chain in solvent

    Put everythng back together

    GT85 on cassette, F&R Mechs

Lube Chain, pivot points on Mechs, springs on SPD etc

    Should look like this!

This may sound like a dumb question, but how do you dry your bike? I find the worst time for my bike, rust-wise, is after i've washed/degreased/rinsed everything and i'm waiting for it all to dry before re-lubing. If I leave it in the shed overnight then by the next day there are loads of orange rusty bits all over the sprockets, chain, and even around the headset.

    Help?!?

old towel an wd. just dont go mad and get wd40 on discs (obvioulsy) or your grips or brake levers (not fun). just a light spray over the frame, leave it for five minutes then wipe it down. use a clean towel for the discs mind,
