last month i brought a sram x7 rear shifter, last nigh after work i got round to fitting it. i found that it was missing some of the cogs on both down and up shifts so i have a look in the manual and there it says 1:1 actuation not compatible with my shimano mech.

so now im looking for a new 1:1 rear mech. i havent used sram before other then my disc brakes which are impressive so i dont know how good they are

so what shall i buy. budgets around £20 for free ride was looking at the 3.0 and the x5. i want a nice shifting mech better then what i have now a simano dont know what model it has a shimano worded sticker with what looks like an A

so recomend me a nice shifting rear mech
thank you!

The best SRAM you can afford. Make sure you get the correct cage length for the number of chainrings you have on the front - long cage for 3 chainrings, medium cage for 2 and short cage for 1.

The X-7 is the middle of the range SRAM kit. I think the most basic is 3.0, then X-5, X-7. X-9 and finally the ludicrously expensive X-0.

I've got X7's with a X7 rear mech an a X-gen front mech they came as standard on my fury and seem to perform really good, fast clean shifting, that reminds me I need to replace my gear cables.

Your other option (assuming your shifters are still in pristine condition) is to return them and swap them for SRAM Rocket shifters. They look and work exactly the same but are designed to work with Shimano Mechs

i brought them last month well outside 14 day returns and i'd rather replace my rear mech for a better one as its on my list of upgrades :D
