Shifter pod mounting brackets

A mate of mine with a very lightweight XC rig has finally given in and deceided to go for hydraulic discs.
I was telling him that when reading a copy of MBUK many years ago I remember seeing an article about brackets which would attach your existing gear shifting pods to the handlebars if you changed the brakes and previously owned combination brake levers/gear shifters.
I've never needed any but said I'd have a look arounf for him now and can't find any mention of them anywhere.
Does anyone know if this product is still in existence and if so where it can be bought?

what are his gears as there are different systems but the ones to look at are for Avid brakes and formula brakes to work with X0 and X9 sram shifters."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

what year? if it is the waggle shifter then he will need to replace the shifter of get the shimano dual hydro ones instead of the cable ones."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
