when you push down it has a sound like a bit of air is coming out but they are dirt jamp comps and i though olny dirt jam pros have air and comps havge springs and oil0

what year? are they."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

they are 2006 dirt jam comps
do you think it is somthing that can be fixed because dont have the money for new forks0 -
No oil in these, so not a damping problem. Wasy to strip: thats what I'd do. Strip, service, reagrease, examime insides for damage, put back together and see what happens.0

ok thanks but i can hear a sound witch sounds like air but it olny sounded like it when i turned the preload nobs on the top0

no air they are just Spiral Spring + MCU elastomer so NO air and NO oil.
you have just realized why you don't land to flat you have bust something."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Probably crushed the push rod top in one leg, letting the spring slip down!0

thanks for all the help0 -
Well, whats wrong with it? Depends if it can be repaired, and what parts need changing. Could be any amount.0

In my opinion, It does sound like there is a small leak some where (possibly dust seals, maybe even the top nut). Even if they dont have an air preload feature there will still be the same air pressure inside them as there is out side of them. Basicly when you compress it the air pressure will increase inside the fork, but as there is a leak the air pressure that would have increased due to compression will leak out causing the air pressure inside the fork to stay the same as outside the fork. This will put all the force of the compression on the coil spring and will make it much more linear ride (hence bottoming all the time) than if the leak wasnt there.
For the price/trouble of fixing the problem I would guess your better off buying new forks.
Hope this helps0
