Anyone here cycled that route? It's another option for my spring tour. How did you find it? how hilly was it?

I suppose you know there's a tourist bike route between Lake Constance and Königssee? 3400 m climbing over 6 stages covering 410 km altogether, mostly on off-road tarmac-ed paths through the countryside. You can probably get a leaflet from the German tourist office.
    Here's a link (in German)

And here's a link (also in German) to the report of a group of blokes, heavyweights included, who appear to have followed the route, or at least roughly so (they have about 50 km and 500 m climbing more, annd took 5 days).

I know the area around Berchtesgaden. If you end up on the main road thereabouts, it can be busy, but elsewhere it's quiet and lovely scenery, the closer to Königssee, the more so.
I also know the area of Austria just east of Lindau, and if I were doing the ride, my choice (for the scenery) would be to go through Austria at the beginning, so from Lindau to Bregenz then over the Hochtannbergpass rejoining the proper route at Schwangau.

    Thanks for that.
I too know the area around Konigsee (which is why I'm so keen to get back there). I don;t know the Lindau area, so I'll check it out. Thanks for the links. I know enough German to get by, so hopefully I'll be able to make some sense of them.

    Again, many thanks.
