Solid axle conversion

This may sound like a very easy question, but I can't seem to find an answer on the net.
If I wanted to convert my quick release 105 hub to solid axle, should I just buy a solid axle about 120mm and transfer the cones and locknuts, or is this hub a sealed, non-serviceable type?

You'll need a Cro-mo 9mm axle for the front or 10mm Cro-mo fior the rear, 120/140mm length, not sure about friont length but should be that simple, just take the cones etc from the QR axle.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

if the hub is traditional cup & cone bearings, then it should be possible.
front hub will be 100mm OLN, plus thickness of fork blades, plus nuts/washers you are using plus a few mm extra .
Rear will be similar but OLN will be different, probably 130mm for a modern (last 15 years) 105 hubRecipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.0 -
Why would you want to?0

You know, now I've thought about it, I might not want to after all, as I'm possibly gonna do some courier work to get my fitness up - I guess I'd always lock the front wheel and front triangle to something immovable, but these things are always useful to know.

I was larrgely after a clarification - if it's security you're after than just get a bolt on skewer (you can get security ones which need a special tool, which will make your wheels more secure than using nuts e.g. http://www.awcycles.co.uk/brands/KF/Sec ... index.aspx).0
