Hi all, im looking for some advice on which of the above forks to buy. I have an On-One Inbred SS with the carbon rigid fork. Im looking for a short travel, light fork to take some of the sting out of the bike. I've narrowed it down to the Magura and the Manitou. The Manitou is nearly 1lb lighter.

I've got maguras, and i think there ace! Everybody tends to stick with fox or r/s, but they both look like good forks with a fair bit off then at crc!
Magura!

What is your max budget?
From what I've seen, reba's are pretty much the perfect compliment to the inbred. You can space them down to 80mm as well.0 -
I was thinking around the €250 mark. Max €300(£225). I looked at the Reba's but they range from €410 to €500. More than I want to spend.0

Pre 2008, Manitou have a bit of a bad rap for reliability. Personally i think it's a bit unfair because I've owned 2 sets in the last three years (on different bikes) and they've both been fine.
I think possibly their quality control has been poor so that the ratio of good to dodgy is pretty low.
However, they have been taken over by Hayes (of disk brake fame) so the 2008 models are expected to be higher quality.0 -
checked out merlin, thats a pretty sweet deal alright..0

really is, that's why you'll see them on most sprung inbreds...
And indeed almost anything that has a 100mm aftermarket shock fitted.0 -
thanks for your help ride_whenever. i've just ordered the reba sl's from merlin cycles. too good a deal to pass by.0
