bar plugs - cheap or exspensive?

Is it worth buying bar plugs such as xlite disco's which 'bolt' onto the bar ends or will cheaper 'push on' bar plugs do the trick (without falling off etc).

the cheap ones will do the "trick" , but i tend to use ones like the x-lite's or the type that fit on by 2 small grub screws , as they are more secure and easier to remove.if you're not crashing, you're not trying.0

Although the MBUK ones that came ages ago managed to cold weld themselves onto my bars, that was fun!0

the mbuk ones were'nt exactly the best in the land, but what do you expct from a freebie, i've still got mie on my jump bike. 24seven do some nice bar caps, i've recently found them on ebay for about £3if you're not crashing, you're not trying.0

I just use the 10p plastic bungs, do the job fine!0

i suppose it's all down to personal preference and what type of riding you do.
for my style of riding (all out do anything even if it hurts style) i prefer to use the type that use two small grub screws ,like the old mbuk ones, i just feel that if i crash there is less chance i'll be skewered by my bars and end up like a bike / human kebabif you're not crashing, you're not trying.0 -

they are some nice bar plugs, however i wouldn't personally pay that much for bar plugs.

I have only ever used the ones that come with the grips - standard jobbies. However - I have never (fortunately) had an experience to see whether they are OK or not.0

I am staggard to believe that someone would pay £35 for a set of bar plugs!! :shock:
I have only ever used the ones that come with grips like Cheesey and have always found these to be more than enough for the job. For that price you could have 2 full sets of ODI Extreme lock on grips that come with end plugs!!0 -
