WHat do you guys make of these for XC?

Good idea with the integrated bottom bracket or a bad idea?

Absolutely cracking. Had mine over 2 years and no problems.

The only gripe is that the chainrings are sh1Te. Mine wore out within 3 months of moderate use, but I replaced them with Blackspire inner and middle with a bash ring and they are still goign strong.

The Hollowtech II bearings have lasted far longer than any ISIS or cup-and-cone BB that I've ever owned.

I'd give 'em 9/10 - if the chainrings were better it would be top marks.

it looks like it's exactly the same as LX but painted black with a "HONE" sticker on it? dunno if there's any other difference?

Indeed - I have the LX Hollowtech 2 on my old Stumpy and it looks EXACTLY the same!!
Good crankset though and my chainrings are still okay. I did slice my hand open on it last week though. It hurt.
