Is this not a case of reinventing the wheel?

What can a multitool for a brompton need that is not already out there?

    • C-Type...
    • M-Type...

    • Other...L3 (M3L?)

    Q. How long for? Please indicate with a X...
    • 0-6 months
    • 6 months – 1 year
    • 1-2 years
    • 2-5 years (X)
    • 5 years +

    Q. What problems or breakdowns have you had with your Brompton cycle?
    None (no, really)

    Q. Did you own the tools to fix these problems?
N/A, but I do own tools to fix most things. Except the big box spanner for the folding pedal.

    Q. If you did, did you carry them on your bike in case of emergency break downs?
I sometimes carry a spare tube, levers, wheel spanner. Mostly just money tho'.
Tools in my bag/pockets etc, pump attached to the bike.

    Q. Do you perform maintenance on your Brompton yourself or take it to a bike shop?
    Do it myself

    Q. If you do perform it yourself, how often do you do it
    Depends on useage/ weather.

    Q. What tools do you require to do the work?
Mostly soapy water/ rags/ lube. I only work on it when it goes wrong, and it hasn't yet.

    Q. What is the hardest maintenance or most time consuming task?
Don't know. A rear-wheel puncture might be slightly annoying, but not difficult.

    Q. How often do you get a puncture?
I'm just lucky I guess. I did once deflate the tube by pulling the valve off with the track pump.

    Q. What Brompton accessories do you own? E.g. front panniers
    None.

I was thinking that too. They have standard nuts on virtually everything, no odd sized allen bolts or anything similar. The beauty of a Brommy is that if it does pack -up on you, you can continue by public transport. mAybe the USp is it attaching to the bike, but thats not necessarily a good thing as then its expoosed to the dirt & grime of your commmute.
