Went to pick up new TARA Shock QR skewer today from Cycle surgery.

Looks the same, exactly the same - apart from the fact that it was about 25mm too long (and you cant trim it - as only the last 15mm is threaded.

Probably came from a Quake or something - defo a TARA one (written on it - although they did say that it was going to be a whyte one - but managed to get me the Marin one (even if it was feckin wrong)

ALWAYS something wrong!

You can cut more thread onto it.
    Intense Socom
    Inbred
  • Presuming you have access to a vice and thread tapping tool..

Dot 4 in the eye hurts. Trust me
  • Sod it - I'll just ring them up and tell them the correct length and get them to get me another one in? And take this one back.

Not always, some threads are cut into the shaft an you can easily add more to suit, other threads are rolled where the thread is of a larger daimeter than the shaft.

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Phoned up ATB sales and they confirmed they had sent a single pivot link instead of a Quad TARA - doh - so new one on its way!
