Can any one recomment any good stuff to prevent punctures,
I have seen slime stuff for the inside of the inner tubes, if i used it will i still be able to inflate my inner tube, and does it do any thing like wiegh down the tire?
Also, i have seen some stuff to go out side the inner tube, is that any good?

Thanks for any help.

Slime and tyre liners both good options - do add a little weight though. Some tyres seem better than others at shedding punctures off. Tubeless conversion is another option.

ive had slime in my tyres for, oooh, two and a half years??? and it still works. (actually dont even have slime, got the asda stuff, bout four quid a bottle) i run pretty low psi (sub 35) and i rarely puncture, and when i do i can just pump the tyre back up again and its fine!!! cant say alot fairer than that, and i cant really complain bout the weight, tbh.

  • Excuse my ignorance but how dose a tubeless conversion thingy work?

Dont use slime. Stuck on the top of ilkley more looking like that slimy thing from ghostbusters after a little puncture is not my idea of a fun ride out.
My answer: kevlar strips. Panaracer do their Flataway strip

id just like to say that slime tyres are f*kin awesome, i was 15 miles outside of leicester in the middle of nowhere on Sunday and flying down a hill, i got the shhhht!!!....shhhhht!!!...shhhhht!!! on the a puncture going round and round, by the time id stopped the bike the hole had self sealed, id lost about 50% pressure but that was it, 2 minutes later id pumped it back up and continued for another 20 miles with out any problem ... its the 2nd time ive been saved by the slime and regardless of weight i wont buy anything else now.
I found it hard, its was hard to find, oh well whatever nevermind.
