differnce between types of brake

hi im getting a new Hayes HFX-9 XC Rear hydrolic Brake and i dont no wot vesion to go for v6 or v7 or v8 because i dont no the difference between them :?: :?: :?:

    The rotor size, roughly in inches (though the v6 is 160mm). Bigger rotor = less lever effort to get required stopping. Dissipates heat a bit better. BUT there may be warranty issues and/or clearance issues with your frame with larger rotors. Bigger isnt always better!

    Also big ass rotor on front makes endos/nearly going over handle bars easy till you get used to them :?

    I have a 185mm rotor on the front of new trek and compared to the tiny rotor on the front of my scott scale 20, the 185mm rotor has brilliant stopping power.

    Like steve_b77 says, they will throw you over if you let your guard down. well worth the bigger rotor if you like going fast!
