    I use the Park Tools scrubber with some Halfords citrus degreaser and it works pretty well, i also use a small tupper ware tub to soak it in overnight if its particularly dirty and gritty after givin it the once over in the scrubber.
  • The LifeLine one works well, it's half the price of the Park tools one. http://wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=cycle&ProdID=5360024028&N=LifeLine%20Chain%20Cleaning%20Kit
    Use it with any citrus degreaser, Halfords one seems OK.

    Just a friendly word of advice about chain cleaners and de-greaser;

    After you have used the chain cleaner with the required amount of degreaser to clean your chain, don't rinse it out in water and then proceed to shake it free of excess water/dirt etc. as you will end up throwing the damn thing into the patio and smashing it. :( Much like I did a couple of days after unwrapping it as a Christmas gift! The degreaser removes any hint of grip that your hand can make with the plastic!

    Luckily it didn't smash too much and I can still use it :lol:

    I've also got the Park one and would recommend it. Not tried any others though.

    Think mine's a Finish Line one does a good job at cleaning but no matter how I adjust it I still cant stop it dripping degreaser on the shed floor! Any degreaser should work, not really noticed any differance between uber expensive and dirt cheap ones myself.
  • Get an SRAM powerlink fitted to your chain,an old ice cream container ,a brush and any old degreaser(all much the same).Much more effective as a chain cleaner and cheaper too!

    Another vote for the Park Tools cleaner with Halfords degreaser, works pretty well, used to have a Halfords chain cleaner, not as good but still did the job. It's OK taking the chain off to clean it but IMHO it's easier to clean on the bike.

    I've got the Halfords one with some Halfords Citrus de-greaser, works a treat especially if you clean the rear cassett properly too :D

    Although when I was cleaning my cooker hob last nite I did happen to notice that Mr. Muscle Orange Action, smells, feels and works exactly the same as the Halfords stuff, 'tis also way cheaper and comes in a handy 500ml spray gun and it's about £2.70'ish depending on where you get it from :idea:

    ^^^^^^Now there's an idea, I'm about out of Halfords degreaser, anyone else think this might be a good idea (Mr Muscle £ 5.40 a litre, Halfords stuff about £ 9 a litre from memory).

    My missus is way impressed you were cleaning the cooker hob, think you've given her ideas :evil: .
