Is it worth upgrading the rear shock on my '06 Fuel 80?

The rear end doesn't always feel that active, compared to some other bikes I've tried. How much will a better shock improve the performance? Does the fact that the rear end is bushings instead of bearings make a difference?
I've looked at a few shocks and have a shortlist that I'd consider.

Bushings can add more stiction. What shock do you have?0

Its not a bad shock, but can get a bit sticky. The FOX would perform better - the pro pedal ones may come in useful.0
