OK the last couple of days I'v noticed my bike veer off slightly to the left or right, only slightly. It kind of feel like when the first few seconds after getting a puncture and your bike is not as responsive if that makes sense? I'm wondering could this be the bearings on there way out or anything else?

slightly heavier steering too? might be tyre wearing down creating more rr or maybe a very slow puncture? i've had a few like that all of a sudden the bike feels just a little different after a puncture seals itself up after losing 5-10psi. only thing i can think of.
  • Come to think of it the steering does feel a little heavier and this as only become noticable since I repaired 2 punctures last weekend. It's definatley not a slow puncture, I started noticing it last weekend and then again today but I haven't pumped the tyre up since last weekend. As for the headset I haven't checked that, is that just a case of tightening it up with an allum key? I'm not really good at self maintenance, I usually just send it to the lbs. Got the week off work this week though and I plan on taking it out everyday. It's still ridable, it just a twinge now and then but I can feel. something isn't quite right.

I had a similat proble which started as a slight lean to the right and tightening of my headset. It got worse and when i steipped my headset down (fsa pig) the top bearing race cage had colapsed.

Check the spoke tension on your wheels.
If they're standard equipment supplied with the bike, they may not be strung as tight as a hand built set, and may be built with plain guage spokes which can stretch a little over time, and make the bike handle a little more sluggish.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
