So, I've spent a couple of days testing some FS bikes and I dont like em - slow, heavy an remote feeling (imho) for general peaks and moors type riding so its back to old school HT's for me.
But which one? I've narrowed it down to:
Whyte 905
Genesis Altitude 30 (sorta acid green colour - looks ace!)
Orange P7 Pro
Rock Lobster Ti
Or less probably
On-One Scandal. (like the frame but the kit list is a bit bizarre)
If anyones got any experience of the above then I'd be interested to hear it.
Cheers

P7 but I'm an Orange addict0

P7 Pro in White gets my vote. I would recommend getting a demo as it isn't everyone's cup of tea!0

rock lobster for me.
Bought the alu one and can`t fault it. They are also selling a Carbon in the shop. Not made it onto the webby yet, but maybe a worthwhile consideration.0 -
Rocklobster Ti.
With the amount I spend I should probably get shares in MerlinVisit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
Who are you calling inbred?0 -
Yeah the merlins do sound good but dont believe in carbon fibre - call me old fashioned!
GPJONES - whats the score with the P7, why dont people like it - to harsh/heavy etc?0 -
I ride an alloy Rock Lobster so my money would go on the Ti version if i were u, they really are great bikes/frames and the Ti will prob outlive you!!!0

I ride a steel Rock Lobster and love her to bits, can't reccommend enough.
But regarding the Ti version, i think it got a bit of a slagging off when it was reviewed somewhere or other, i'm sure they said it didn't make full use of the benefits of Ti or something, better Ti frames out there. I may be wrong though, it is a vaugue memory of Ti frame reviews.
The steel version however, almost came top in WMB steel frame reviews, only pipped to the top spot by the on-one 853 singlespeed, but thats a silly single speed thingy.

I have the Scandal, it is a really nice, well sorted hardtail, very light as well.
Does what you tell it to, etc etc.
Why not build one up, or alternatively email brant and see about build options?
Of course there are the Ti 456 frames coming soon, Lynskey made, £999
