Just been changing tyres and finishing cleaning from last weekends ride and when I went to put my wheels back on I found the calipers won't allow me to get the disc in any more.
I've tried the Avid recommended "rock a screwdriver back and forth" but no go. Help.

Is it the gap between the pads that's too narrow for the rotor? There's no reason why the pads would sunddely move closer together, you may have caught your lever causing it.
apologies if you've tried this but try and make sure the rotor is actually going between the pads, iots really easy to catch the tabs on the pads with the rotorBrought to you by:

SOunds like youve pulled the brake levers with the rotor out, forcing the pistons out. You need to lever them back in - tyre lever is good. Can take some force!0

yes, sound like the lever has been pulled/ knock whilst the wheel was out. Use a CLEAN flat bladed screwdriver / tyre lever and lever the pads open slowly.
the lever/ screwdriver must be clean to avoid contamination of the padsif you're not crashing, you're not trying.0 -
Yeah I caught the levers when I was trying to get the bike out of the house because the bulb blew where I was fixing it. Given my tyre levers are chunky buggers, I guess I'm stuck with the screwdrivers for a bit0

It doesn't seem like there's much movement in there (i've got them a couple of mm apart easily). How much force can I place on them?0

Its hard to say really, aslong as its even and not like ARGHHHHHH force it should be ok to use a fair bit.Brought to you by:
