handlebar/stem diameter
Does anyone know what the old and new Cinelli handlebar/stem diameters are?
I vaguely thought the old size was 26mm and the new was 25.something but I've just bought a handlebar marked 26.0mm which is a very loose fit on an old Cinelli stem. Is the old size 26.4 by any chance?

That's great, thanks. Yes, the old Cinelli size is 26.4. Rats. The only bars I have in that size are cinelli 65s, with no straight top bit to rest on. What I'm after is 66 pattern or anything similar, but with double grooves for ergos. Nobody uses the 26.4 size any more so I might have to get historical to find somethg that fits. Or give up and get a new setup. Boring. Thanks for the reply.0

Shims are available for this purpose. If you don't want to buy one, a coke can is 0.1mm thick. Two thicknesses of that will pack out the bars nicely.

I'll do that - I'm fed up of buying gear, fun though it can be. Rather make use of what I've got. And I've probably got a coke can somewhere...
