Need a chainstay protector for a Rockhopper. Went to my LBS (which is 18 miles away!) and bought a Specialized neoprene job after they said that it would fit. Got it home and its too narrow!!

Which is best taking into account that theres a cable stop on the bottom of it?

Inner tube + zip ties? I use a neoprene one myself but the more experiended riders round here all swear by the DIY jobbie. If done properly I think it looks better that a manufactured one any day.

I got a Lizard Skins protector off of Ebay for a fiver and secured it using a couple of zip ties, its never moved at all since the day it was fitted.

Stuck a Lizard Skins on our new Rockhopper - very tight fit due to the chainstay cabling but it's on nice and snugly now!
Two Stumpjumpers, a Rockhopper Disk and an old British Eagle.
