Keeping the shoes dry in the rain

Hi,
After almost a complete week of rain and huge puddles (ponds?) my shoes remained dry as I used some of the thin sandwich type bags over the shoes before putting on my showerproof overshoes.
They don't impede the SPD's and cost next to nothing! Use them for a few runs then throw away, keep out 95% of the water. Just the bit that runs down my legs it let in.
Only thing was that on Wednesday I didn't put them on as it seemed a bit drier, then found a large puddle....wet through to the socks :?
Have a nice weekend all.
Phil

Yep, same here - I use the corner of a carrier bag cut out to cover the top of my SPD shoes, then a neoprene overshoe - works well...0

I'm too lazy and let my feet get wet. It's only 6miles though.
Although, to be fair, in the 8 months since I've started commuting, I've only got drenched feet twice - today and one day in August.
I don't really feel the cold, so getting wet isn't a problem, I overheat more than I get cold, even during the winter. My hands normally suffer tho, if I don't wear my gloves on the bike.0
